• ¼ cup butter (½ stick)
• ½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
• (optional - ½ tsp cinnamon)
• 3 large, ripe bananas
• ? cup light or dark rum
• 1 quart vanilla ice cream 

In medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until a thick syrup forms.  Add the sliced banana and stir to coat evenly.  Remove from the heat and then stir in the rum.  Place scoops of ice cream in 4-6 bowls or parfait glasses and top with banana mixture.  Serve immediately.
